Yesterday, while lazing around and watching makeover specials on a million cable channels, I had a rather disquieting experience. There is, on TLC, a show called 'Faking It', in which they take a person and give them three weeks to learn how to be someone completely unlike them. The one I stumbled across was about a self-proclaimed geeking Harvard graduate who was going to try and pass as a cheerleader. Traumatizing enough, yes, though entertaining. As the program went on, though, I realized that this girl was looking more and more like ME. (And no, it wasn't when she was cheerleadered up. Assholes.) At one point, she's bouncing around with a drama coach who's trying to inject her with enthusiasm and cheer-spirit, and she's got extensions in her hair, and SHIT. Same funny eyelids, same slightly odd chin, same spastic smile. She looked like me in candid video tapes. Weird clones! Weird clones of me who have graduated from Harvard AND are turning into cheerleaders!

*nightmares*

Maybe she's the girl who's been confusing all the people who come up to me and swear they know me. Maybe there are hundreds of us. Maybe I'm one of a set of Eves, genetically engineered for brilliance and psychosis. Whee, X-files!

At least I know now that those little tortoise-shelly glasses would look good on my face.
