Set down Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mouthful (which continues to be lovely, though my brain needs a wee break so it can ramble), picked up Ten Years Beyond Baker Street. Because I'm ECLECTIC, yo.

Sherlock Holmes was not sexy when I last read this book. I'm disquieted. I've passed some milestone of sexagenarian-beekeeper-lust and I didn't even NOTICE. Suddenly, Holmes has got a gloriously schnoz-full profile and neatly muscled arms and vicious sarcasm and...well...everything I fancy in a fictional boy. Who knew?

Cut the tops off my socks this morning so I could wear them with the shin-high jeans that seem to be the Fate of Tall Girls Who Shop Thrift Stores. The remaining cuff-parts of the socks are all unelasticizing and slightly jagged and beautiful to my eye. Ha! None of those silly little dooly-ball tennis socks for ME. My feets are hard-core.

Actually, the socks in the bathroom are only tanGENTally related to the cut-off socks. They were spared trimming by the SLIGHTEST of margins, only to get tangled up in my bath towel. When I went to dry off my head last night, they fell into the tub.

I feel it's important to be precise about these things. *snicker*
